Invest in your health!

We all know saying that health is wealth but have we invested in our health as if it were wealth?

In today’s fast paced modern world, time frankly means money.   It is a given that engaging any competent, and certified, Personal Trainer to handle your fitness is expensive.  Few people, however, have wondered about what goes into developing a fitness program tailored to an individual.   Most people fixate on and are frozen by the price tag so they miss out on what is really a great opportunity.

Good Personal Trainers, the Personal Trainer from Executive Results Brisbane are an example, when meeting a potential client they begin evaluating that persons overall fitness.  They then move to reconciling that level with the client’s fitness goals and think up training techniques and possible training routines that would be interesting to the client.  Part of this analysis would be any health problems this person has and the ways it would limit the training program, diet for instance.  This is actually the easy part as all the pertinent data is readily obtained from the client or the client’s health care provider.  Also, coming up with a good program based on this is what Personal Trainers are trained to do.  The hard part would be keeping your morale up and your interest keen until you fulfil your specified goal.

Now, what if you had to do all this by yourself?  Think of the amount of time you would be using up just understanding your level of fitness and your health issues.  Your fitness program would also be a cobbled together, trial and error Frankenstein, “trying out something tried and tested” and seeing if it suits you is actually the same thing.  This is like playing Russian roulette with your health.  The only difference is that you suffer the consequences when you are old and gray, sometimes even before you are old and gray.

Cheap Personal Trainers are not an option either.  Why would you spend money on and time with someone who did not spend the amount of time and resources good Fitness Trainers did to get their credentials and training?  For instance, all Personal Trainers Brisbane have Certificate IV in Fitness.  This means that they invested time and money in order to learn things like training & nutrition, the symptomatology and diagnosis of sports injuries, and sports psychology among others.  This makes them a good investment for you.


John Goodman Weight Loss

I never thought he would pull this off, I thought for sure he’d end up like John Candy or something, but good on him!

John Goodman’s been noticeably skinnier of late on “Treme” and in that maybe-not-so-controversial “Be the One” Gulf Coast restoration video. About 100 pounds skinnier, in case you were keeping track.

Goodman just shared a few of his tips with People: He quit drinking three years ago, hired a health coach, exercises six days a week now and doesn’t eat sugar.

On 16Kg Kettlebells now

Had a great kettlebell session yesterday at The TOUGH Spot

I did the whole class with 16Kg bells, currently our heaviest bell. Have to get some heavier bells soon. Just loved the dynamic moves we did yesterday, it’s a good class when I’m flustered and sweating like crazy!

Great week of fitness training

I had a really great week of training this week!

I did a Caveman Circuit Training session with a Boxing for Fitness session straight after on Tuesday, on Wednesday I went to Roma Street Boot Camp, on Thursday I did a Kettlebell class, on Friday I did another Caveman Circuit Training session followed directly by a powerlifting session, which was great, I thought I would not be able to do the powerlifting class, but Caveman Circuit Training and Powerlifting are so completely different, in the circuit it was more explosive, anaerobic and endurance, the powerlifting was strength and gave it that finishing touch. I loved the powerlifting class it was an easy going class focusing on strength, posture and technique. The challenge in the Caveman Circuit Training session was seriously challenging, we had to go down 72 stairs, run around the building, go up 72 stairs on the other side and down again, doing this 10 times, and after the circuit itself is a serious challenge.

I finished the week off with a Muay Thai class on Saturday. Resting on Sunday and Monday.

Boot Camp for Kids in Brisbane

Boot Camp for Kids! Executive Results has put together a unique fitness program that will be available at Aspley State School to participate in. The program is a weekly Kids Boot Camp of just 30 minutes that will teach kids team building and leadership skills, while doing so they also get a good “old school” workout that will help them lose weight quickly and also have fun.

 First session is on 11 February 8AM sharp (or penalties) at the school oval, the program is once a week on Thursday and runs for 5 weeks, cost of the program is $75.

Channel 10 Totally Wild has shown interest in this program and will be on the spot to film and participate in one of the Boot Camps sessions, which is totally awesome!

About the Boot Camp
Respect and discipline is regarded highly in the Boot Camp Program. The definition of “Discipline” is the willingness and compliance to requests, respect for parents or teachers and other authority figures, self reliance and teamwork; it does not refer to physical discipline, there will never be any cursing or physical contact between the instructor and kids. This program is intended for everyday kids, kids who need to get more active and/or lose a bit of weight, the program is not intended for unruly kids in any way.

 The program is run by Personal Trainers from Executive Results who all have kids themselves! The Personal Trainer will show up in their Army Camouflage pants, Army coloured shirt and cap which will impress every kid, so far all kids have been very positive and always think they are dealing with the Boot Camp Commando (TV Character) or Jillian Michaels when Anna Junghans takes the session 😉

The Boot Camp is strict, your kids might totally love it from day one, or they might hate it at first and start to love it later. If you think you don’t want to hear “I got penalties for talking back or showing no respect” then this Boot Camp is not for you and your kids. We just wanted to be clear on this point, and not pull any wool over anyone’s eyes 😉

Healthy Eating
The program also promotes healthy eating habits by donating a percentage back in the form of fruit and healthy snacks that are handed out for free during the lunch break.

Bringing Back The Old Style Of Training Into The Mainstream

Executive Results a Brisbane based fitness business is bringing back the old style of training (grunting and moaning) into the mainstream. The good old sandbags will be pulled out of the closet, huge tractor tyres will finally become useful, the sledgehammer will no longer just be used for destruction work (breaking down doors for example), but also for construction, construction of muscles that is!

Executive Results has been in business since the year 2004 and has been one of the forerunners when it comes to seriously hardcore training in their Boot Camps. In 2009 the business created microfitness® and organised for Scott Ramsdell to fly over from the United States and provide a certification for trainers in Caveman Training. Since the certification some serious athletes have been created through hard work, sweating, commitment and sometimes letting out a bit of chunder.

2010 brings more exciting news, as we’re opening the doors to ‘The TOUGH Spot’ in Stafford Brisbane, a training centre where noise and hard work is expected. The equipment list includes things like; slosh pipes, tyres, ropes, sand bags, logs, barrels plus lots of other non- traditional equipment, and let’s not forget to mention Gas Masks, yes gas masks, apparently they seem to mimic some of the effects of high altitude training and help condition your lungs.

Some of the other exciting stuff we will experiment with is the use of ice baths or cold room, the cold is to assist with recovery of the muscles after a serious workout and help prevent Rhabdomyolysis. We are currently running a trial to see if a cold bath before exercise improves performance.

We have partnered with another successful business in Brisbane of which the owner is also a certified Caveman Training Instructor and has a similar style of hard training, besides the partnership, we’re also looking to rent space out to other trainers around Brisbane who have always been looking to rent space where they can be themselves, not hold back, push their clients to their maximum ability and make noise. Besides now running a training centre in Brisbane both businesses will dominate Brisbane with Boot Camp locations all over the place, for example; Eatons Hill, North Lakes, Bridgeman Downs, Stafford, Mitchelton, CBD, Clayfield and a few more to be added during the year.

In the middle of the year we’ve organised a 7 day seminar/workout/holiday in Phuket which is going to be the best seminar of 2010 with a unique format that allows the participants to learn, demonstrate and experience everything they are taught! Participants are taught new training techniques by the best in the business (Scott Ramsdell, Anna Junghans and an Old School Thai Trainer). The participants will also learn how to make equipment that can be used in workouts. The workouts will be tough and smash every participant involved, this seminar is not for the weak. There will also be some survivor style surprises that will keep everyone guessing.
